From God's Word...

There are many verses in God's Word regarding fear.  He admonishes over and over to ‘Fear Not!’  The reason for that is that He is not the author of fear.  Fear comes from the kingdom of darkness and the ruler of darkness.  When we succumb to fear we are trusting in the enemy instead of God, the Father.

Verses to look up, study, meditate on to overcome fear:
Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
(Because He is ever present, we need fear no evil; He knows everything that is happening to us and He can make it right if we trust Him to do so.)

Psalm 27:1-3 The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?  When the wicked came against me to eat up my flesh, My enemies and foes, They stumbled and fell.  Though an army should encamp against me, My heart shall not fear;
(God is able to deliver us from every situation if we trust instead of fear.  Fear is the opposite of faith; when we fear we are lining ourselves up with the enemy who established fear in mankind.  When we reject fear and go in faith, we are agreeing with God instead. This allows God to work on our behalf for He cannot go against our choices.)

Psalm 46:1-3 God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.  Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; its waters roar and be troubled, the mountains shake with its swelling.
(Awesome words and difficult to believe; however, if we let Him develop our faith to that degree, it will be so.  The developing of our faith puts us through trying times but it is the only way He can train us to trust Him.   If we are never put to a test of faith, we can never show Him that we have that faith.)

Isaiah 35:3,4 Strengthen the weak hands, And make firm the feeble knees.  Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear!”  Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God; He will come and save you.
(There are many examples of God’s vengeance on behalf of those whom He called His own. There are many examples of miraculous happenings to protect their lives.  What has been done for one has to be done for anyone that asks it of Him because He treats everyone fairly and without favoritism.)

Isaiah 41:10  “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
(He Himself settles us into what makes us strong; we cannot complete any good work by ourselves.  We are totally dependent on Him to do it for us; our work is to agree with Him and keep ourselves from wavering.)

Haggai 2:5  According to the word that I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, so My Spirit remains among you; do not fear!
(These people were delivered out of bondage in Egypt; our former kingdom is referred to as ‘Egypt’ as a spiritual deliverance.  So we can believe this word as being spoken directly to us.)

Matthew 10:29-31
“Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin?   And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will.  But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.  Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.”
(We are highly favored over animals because His breath is within us.  We are extensions of Him and even as our children are extensions of ourselves and we highly value them, so are we to Him.)

Romans 8:14 & 15
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.  For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”
(Abba is like our ‘Daddy’ which is more personal than father.  He wants us to think of Him as a personal father or daddy who loves us and protects us; who gives us whatever we need and even what we want.  However, He does know what we can handle so not everything comes our way; He does not want to spoil us, He wants us to mature.)

Phillipians 4:6,7 (Amp)
Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.  And God’s peace (shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace) which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
(Because God is so pure and so holy; without sin, He cannot look upon us without destroying us.  He had to send a perfect man to keep the law, take the punishment due to the law-breakers by being sacrificed and shedding His sinless blood to cover transgressions.  This is why we come to Him through Jesus who is the Mediator between a Perfect God and imperfect man.  So we come to the Father with petitions, praise, and thanksgiving in Jesus’ Name who has paved the way so that we are not destroyed by holiness which is a burning fire.)

2 Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
(This is part of the wonderful gifts that are bestowed upon us when we move from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light.)

Hebrews 13:6
So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear.  What can man do to me?”
(Even if man kills our bodies, our spirits go to the Father and we are with Him living in a state of peace and glory such as man cannot even begin to contemplate so why fear?  Death of the body is not the death of our spirits.)

1John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment.  But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
(Only God can love perfectly but He gives us the gift of His love so that we can perfect and strive to be like Him. He rules in love; the enemy rules by enticing us into the pleasures of sin which destroy us.  Then he rules with a heavy unmerciful hand.)
