Anxiety

Anxiety is caused by frustrations; frustrations are caused by things that are said to us and done to us that are out of our control.  Sometimes those frustrations are caused by something we have said or done to others which are equally out of our control.

What is the underlying root of anxieties, worries, frustrations, and other troublesome feelings that disturb our emotions?  The root of it is fear.  Fear that we are not in control.  Fear that we cannot recover our loss if someone has hurt us.  Fear that we have offended someone else.  Fear that we will not have enough.  Fear that we will be in jeopardy of our reputation, emotional well-being, or health.  When we really examine anxiety we run a wide gamut of fears.  Which brings us to this:  how did this root take hold in our lives?

We are born into it when we are born into this world because the world is in the control of God’s enemy.  Because we are spiritual beings, first of all, our spirits belong to the king of this world whose main goal is to destroy us; this king is a spirit.   We are spirit beings living in a body adapted to live on planet earth with a soul which houses our emotions, mind, and will.  This king of the world uses our emotions, mind, and will to be destructive to others as well as to ourselves.

How do we deal with the root of fear?

God has given us the answers to this dilemma.  First of all we have to yield our spirits to a new master.   Because we are first of all a spirit, we have to have a spiritual master.  We were created with the right to choose so that even though we are born into the kingdom of destruction, we can choose to leave it.  We can leave it for a kingdom which builds instead..  This was made possible by Jesus who came to earth as a man to fulfill the law, to take sin upon Himself, to take upon Himself the punishment for sin, and to provide a kingdom for those who want to make that spiritual change.

This new kingdom is a spiritual one with physical manifestations.  When we enter into this kingdom we are given the power over fear which properly developed overcomes anxiety, worry, frustrations and everything else that fear causes.  We do these things in faith believing what Jesus has done for us through His sacrifice and His resurrection.

And how do we enter this spiritual kingdom?

Jesus is God the Father’s only begotten Son.  He is the second person of the Godhead.  By believing in Him, receiving Him and His reality into our spirits, He becomes the new spiritual master.  We must believe in God and in His Word.  When we make that decision, the Holy Spirit enters our spirit, takes up residence, and gives us the revelation knowledge that we need to proceed in the new kingdom that we have chosen.  Now, we are on our way to overcoming fear.
For God is love and He gives peace.  Perfect love casts out fear.

The most important prayer that we can pray is one in which we ask to be delivered from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light or revelation.  This prayer could be very simple.

God, I want to know the truth of Your being; reveal Yourself to me so that I can become a part of the Kingdom which Jesus created by His suffering and dying.  I choose to leave the kingdom of darkness and become a member of the Kingdom of Light and Revelation.  In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

This is just a suggestion; ask God to reveal Himself so that we can recognize that there is a choice of kingdoms.  Then make the choice.  He has sent His Word in written form for us to read and to guide us into all truth.  From that Word, I have chosen some examples of what He has written for us regarding fear which comes to us in so many forms.
